Adam Lambert Gives Hopeful Update on Brian May After His Heart Attack

Brian May is recovering after his heart attack earlier this year.

It’s been five months since the Queen guitarist revealed that he had a heart attack and underwent a stent procedure, and his bandmate Adam Lambert shared a positive update on his condition.  “I talked to him the other day and I think he is doing better, which is awesome,” Lambert told ET.

“That kind of thing takes a minute to recover from, but I am so glad that he is OK,” he continued. “It is interesting timing. Who knows if we would have been on the road. That would have been very difficult, and I know that he got the medical attention that he needs and is fit as a fiddle.”

“Hmm … Sheer Heart Attack eh ?” May shared in the caption of an IGTV video back in May. “Well, I think I always worried a little bit about that album title. I wondered if it might upset some people who had actually had heart attacks. I’m actually quite relieved now that I’m in that club – and I don’t find it upsetting at all ! Take. care folks. And … why did those discs in my spine get so squished? Well I think 50 years of running around with a guitar strap over my left shoulder holding a heavy guitar might have something to do with it ! But it probably WAS all worth it!”

May revealed that the heart attack started with a “bizarre garden accident” that hurt his back, followed by “about 40 minutes of pain in the chest and tightness and that feeling in the arms and sweating.”

Like many other artists, Queen + Lambert postponed their summer tour amid the coronavirus pandemic.
